This pot is handmade on the potters wheel, then placed into a pit in the ground for a pit firing.

Pit firing is such an intense firing. These pots are covered in sawdust, straw, wood and various oxides then they are swallowed by flames. After the flames have died down the pots are then dug out from amongst the ashes. The unknown of what reactions will happen during this firing make each piece one of a kind.
